The Buto spirit is reflective of the strength and diversity within Aotearoa. Our projects capture these uniquely Kiwi qualities and we have successfully produced television for each of New Zealand’s Television networks. Our extensive catalogue consists of factual, observational documentary series’, one-off documentaries and an award nominated comedy series.
We are not afraid to experiment and prefer to explore both traditional and non-traditional story telling techniques, reinventing genres and formats as we go.
Buto has made countless achievements, most proudly in Māori programming. From the fast paced and exciting Ngāti NRL to the quirky Rodeo Kaupoai, we have broken convention with ease and continue to create thoughtful and wildly entertaining television.
