Since bursting onto the nation’s TV sets four years ago, ButoBase has established itself as a leading producer of vibrant and engaging bicultural programming in Aotearoa.
ButoBase has now finalised an exciting deal with Australia’s first National Indigenous Television Network, NITV, which will see many of ButoBase’s Māori television series air on the channel. Reaffirming the company’s vision and commitment to creating relationships with indigenous networks both in Aotearoa and around the world, Australian viewers will now be able to watch some of Māori Television’s hottest programmes.
NITV have selected and invested in a broad selection of series for their station, including Ngāti NRL, the hit show that follows our young Māori and Pacific talent trying to make the grade in Australia’s top rugby league competition, the NRL.
Ngāti Porou Hauora is an observational documentary series that follows health providers on the East Coast, revealing the relationships between practitioner and patient. Ihi Toi is a documentary examining the lives and inspirations of two established Māori artists, Tracey Tawhiao and George Nuku, taking a behind-the-scenes look into their lives as both artists and business people.
